The top of the day to you.
No doubt you've heard me talk a bit about eating the types of foods that are
in season. We are getting into a Fall Season real soon and weathers are changing,
storms abounding with intense barometric pressure changes. Our bodies need to
be flexible for these changes and the foods that accompany the season are primarily
for that reason.
And I know nature intended for us to have variety and to stick to the same
thing all the time would be boredom to the max. I love mangoes but when they
are out of season, we pick fresh grapes and persimmons then the citrus of scores
of varieties are available. And the Apples and Pears are of an unlimited supply.
So now that we are winding down the summer and getting into a Fall Season,
here's a stew I make and I always have it around the Noon Meal as it's a Starchy
Meal! (For more on that, click here "The Perfect Diet Program"
INGREDIENTS:
- One Tablespoon of Brown Rice
- One Tablespoon of Millet
- One Quarter Teaspoon Dried Parsley
- One Quarter Teaspoon Sea Kelp
- One small Pinch of Cayenne Pepper
- Two Cups of Distilled Water
- One 2-inch slice of Sweet Potato (Peeled)
- One 2-inch slice of Hubbard Squash (Peeled)
- Two Carrots cut in 2-inch lengths.
- Three small Red Bliss Creamer Potatoes
- One Cup of 2"x2" slices of Cabbage
Here's how to do this: Put the pot on the stove and put the heat on HIGH! Then
add the Rice and Millet. Then add the Distilled Water. When this is starting
to boil add the rest of the Ingredients and as soon as the Water starts boiling,
turn the stove right down to the lowest heat and let go for 1 hour. Then turn
it off and eat it for a Noon Meal. I usually prepare this when I'm listening
to one of my marketing tapes in the morning. This will satisfy even the most
hungry of souls no matter what type of work you do.
Riches lie within you, not in material possessions. Your true riches are riches
of the head and heart. Satisfaction comes from appreciating what you have. Wealth
without enjoyment is little consolation.
There are two ways of being happy: you must either diminish your wants or augment
your means. It's always better to appreciate things you cannot have than to
have the things you cannot appreciate.
It's not what you have, but what you enjoy that constitutes your abundance.
I guess it's one of those things like we never pay the price for health we just
enjoy the benefits. Stay healthy as so many of our loved ones die and we feel
like the dickens but you know, life goes on. And before you know it, we'll be
looking back wondering where it all went and hopefully without a sign of ANY
disease. "Eat good stuff so you'll always be tough!"
